Hyspeedkote® is a clear, hydrophilic polymer coating that actually holds a continuous film of water on underwater surfaces. The resulting effect of water against water dramatically reduces drag and increases performance.

The product is a natural for sailboats since the more coated surface in the water, the greater the increase in efficiency.  Hyspeedkote offers increased acceleration and speed, a smoother helm on any point of sail, and less bow slap and pounding.

The effects of hydrophilic polymers have been well documented over the years. Past formulations, however, have been water-soluble and were quickly washed away by water flowing past the hull. Hyspeedkote is water-insoluble, it will not wash away.  The coating also:

Dries to an almost invisible hard coating in seconds with no messy residue to clean up.

Is easy to apply. No additional equipment to purchase, i.e., rollers, brushes, buckets

Can be sprayed at any angle, even upside down, and without splattering

Is long lasting – Will remain on a surface for approximately two years unless seriously abraded. Trailering will not degrade performance.

Is environmentally friendly: non-toxic, will not flake off (non-ablative), does not emit chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s) or harmful volatile organic compounds (VOC’s). Spray can uses air pressure rather than chemicals to dispense product.

Don't confuse Hyspeedkote®  with waxes and sealants that some sailors apply to enhance performance. Though such products promote a smooth shiny surface, they can actually be counterproductive. These coatings repel water and create a "dry" surface that only increases drag. Hyspeedkote reduces this friction, allowing your boat to slice through the water much more effortlessly.

Team PI Sailing after finishing the 2002 Worrell 1000

"The Worrell 1000 is a race that demands everything you can imagine from a 20ft Catamaran, reliability strength, and speed. Thanks to Hyspeedkote, Pi Sailing's ‘Inter 20’ was able to match and better the speed of boats 4yrs. its junior and finish the race in 7th place from 18 starters, smashing the team’s previous record by 6 places.

I can't imagine how well we would have done if we would have had a 2002 ‘I20.’  Thanks Hyspeedkote for making our 2002 Worrell1000 a very memorable one for the Pi Team."

J-24 'Gator Bait" - "I haven't won a race since I removed Hyspeedkote to work on my bottom recently. The coating has always allowed my J-24 to accelerate more quickly, ghost more efficiently, and the boat is speedier and less affected by chop."

"We coated our Ericson 32 before entering the Trans Erie Yacht Race and took PHRF Class 3 honors along with the PHRF win. We were very impressed with the consistency of our speed. Waves did not slow us down."
