Hyspeedkote's Sponsored Boats Win Class at Daytona

Daytona Beach, May 28th--Two racing boats coated with Hyspeedkote won their respective classes today at the Daytona Harley Davidson Offshore Grand Prix.

The Factory 2 boat, a custom Scarab 33,  "Herbott Racing for a Cure," which supports the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, had received its first coating of Hyspeedkote less than a week earlier. It finished first among 8 other boats in the Factory 2 class with an average speed of 76.36 MPH. A boost in performance was indicated after the crew had a chance to test Hyspeedkote the Thursday before race day under less than ideal conditions. Owner/driver Keith Herbott reports that when he took the boat out in heavy seas he immediately noticed how much faster it got up on plane and that acceleration was smoother and quicker. He also found that the boat sliced through the water without encountering the drag he was used to in the past. Throttle man Joey Skrocki says that after going out in outrageous weather conditions with a coating of Hyspeedkote, his "confidence level was never higher."

Team manager Anthony Puccio was delighted with the victory and says that Hyspeedkote played a large role in the win.

"H2O Motorsports/Propco Propellers," a Warlock,  took first in the Factory 1 class averaging 65.56 MPH. The boat, which receives a fresh coating of Hyspeedkote each year, has been a consistent winner in past years. Co-owner Brian Canty says, "We have come to consider Hyspeedkote as part of the team effort that has put us at the top of the APBA OFFSHORE “E” CLASS, Factory 1 rankings...I would use it on any boat I own, whatever the type or size.
